The JetSpeed lineup focuses on comfort and speed, allowing you to fly up the ice without excess materials in your boot slowing you down. CCM adds another element to their skates, providing you with the opportunity to possess some of the higher-end features for a low- to mid-level price.
Built with the JetSpeed FT470 as the base, the JetSpeed Xtra Pro skates include features from all three higher-end skates (the FT480, FT490 and FT2). The boot is the same as the FT470, which is a RocketFrame composite with MetaFrame technology to provide an ergonomic boot shape that contours to your foot while remaining as lightweight as possible. The high-end features, though, start with the tongue, liner, topp eyelets and, most importantly, the runner.
Utilizing the SpeedBlade XS Stainless runner, the Xtra Pro's blade provides advanced performance, a longer life and a much higher resistance to corrosion. It also features a 2mm higher stance, which provides better turns and overall performance. Matched with this is the SpeedBlade XS holder, which is equipped with the new BladeLock system. Improving upon the spring-lock systems from the past, BladeLock is a positive-lock mechanism that tightly secures the blade to the holder to prevent the blade from loosening or disconnecting during play. You'll better be able to unload your old runner and replace with a new one on the fly.
The Xtra Pro's top eyelets are brass to allow for the tightest of fits, while the tongue is a 7mm Tri-Tech with molded lace-bite protection found in the FT490s. The TotalDri liner includes abrasion-resistant zones, found in the FT480, to provide you with protection from heavy impact. A shiny heel overlay and a reinforced concave injection outsole, which helps your feet breathe through game play, round out a well-priced, balanced skate that you'll instantly feel comfortable putting on.
